Again, it's all about the music with my hip hop choices. It samples Bill Cobham's 'Heather' and is an accelerated contemporary adaptation, incorporating that high pitched keyboard tune on repeat, well-timed, welcomed jazz trumpet appearances, deep rap vocals spitting words like 'illest', smooth beats and variation in composition. It has that huge initial burst of energy with the entrance beat and drop, that's like POW. It's publish date on Noisey in the Jan of 2013 is surprising- it seems more aged, more mature hip hop compared to the contemporary, chart scape of the genre. It's relaxing and enjoyable to listen to, 'summertime fly,' etc. Chilled vibes. It doesn't exhaust itself trying to get attention, but after a few seconds you just know it's good.
If you like hip hop whereby different rap vocals follow one another by verse, creating a progressive group narrative and a controlled, pedestrian tempo, you'll like this. It's got suttin' suttin'. It's hip hop.
