Jeans for Genes event, Jewel St Pauls London, Tuesday 3rd September

Another task as a Pocket intern: Be an event organiser, attender, spatial planner, alcoholic drinker, mingler, /lady, emphasis on the latter in combination with number four. Suits me down to the ground! Meet a tonne of new lovely people, work with the shockingly amazing human being/Pocket partner that is Karis, wear the classic black Max De Courcy T with some snug jeans and add a few inches, then verbally spray the brand around the room. Parfait!

Last night was such fun! Supporting such a good cause, the charity Jeans for Genes hosted a fun-filled, light-hearted, high-spirited event at Jewel, Wood Street, St Pauls London. Louise Thompson is a brand face for them and Pocket London give regular profits to charity, thus we were one of the brands in attendance.

The kit, excuse the cringe selfie shot:

Pre-opening:

Combining a mix of blue refreshments, photobooth entertainment, hair styling sessions, cupcakes, an array of beauty/fashion/food brands littering the venue, colourful embellished flower stands, and a huge handful of happy-to-be-there celebrity guests and brand representatives, there was a busy and bubbly brilliance about the evening. Demographics varied from teens to working adults and numerous parents, along with Adam Pearson (former star of TV show 'Beauty and the Beast') who made a fab speech! I literally cry when I think about how amazing and confident some people are. They're a lot stronger than I am, and I feel fit to burst with pride! It was a pleasure. We especially enjoyed the photobooth session towards the end of the night, so thank you The Big Booth Company for accommodating us and our three sets of print outs.

Starting at 530pm officially, (330pm arrival for us within the Pocket team for space set up and to sprawl the brand around the upper floor) it continued on until 930pm (or later if you were Karis and I, plus a few others who wanted to take advantage of a 'cooling down' but 'not waste the lovely sparkly drinks everywhere' opportunity). Champagne on arrival- or not on arrival and consistently return to the lady server at the door-a long central bar displaying a selection of cocktail jugs, brimming white/rose wine glasses and canapés (mini burgers, meat on sticks with nice-looking sauce beside them and battered prawns, yay!), fanciful interior decorations including towering cupcake stands with the blue charity logo on, models with jeans actually painted onto their naked flesh (all bar their panties-also apparently it took like 2 hours or more to be painted!) and music playing all night by fashiony guest DJs. One had half a head of white hair and half a head of black! The event reminded me of an evening fairground- you would never get bored, or lost thankfully, because it was all one interconnected space, extending back to the styling, beauty product brand areas at the rear. Pocket London had the upstairs space that was like a hot box, but saved the majority of baking celebs and us, by allowing a space to retreat to, to dry any emerging sweat beads. We had an industrial fan that was soon permanently on.

The inside was permanently and intimately dark with hot, coloured, bright lights dotted about, especially in the upper floor Pocket area. We had a private bar with two waiters chit chatting around, constantly pouring an army load of bright blue cocktails.

Karis and I stayed on after meeting two lovely ladies/mothers/career women from London Mother's Club. We walked into the night thinking it was like 12pm but it actually wasn't and headed for the next establishment that would sell us tasty alcohol, leisurely of course, not drunkenly...

Extremely exciting to talk life, family, work, priorities and all that when utterly infused with numerous types of alcohol and several bottles of Presecco, accompanied by one cupcake for dinner. They gave me a huge boost of enthusiasm to keep working hard and plentiful verbal support. It was inspiring to hear their journeys to present day and achieving a successful London mother's and babies' club.

I played piano. I was semi-drunk. It was upstairs on a mezzanine beckoning me as soon as I ventured to find the ladies in Browns. It was a gorgeous black shiny thing (magpie !) and at closing we were one of the last sets of people to leave. Yes, and one of the ladies did the worm on the concrete pavement outside (REALLY WELL?!) and she's a mum and everything (!!) She did it. Got up and just carried on strolling along with her LV bag and her sass. Karis did a worm also. It was not amazing and she is not a mum. She had less sass in that circumstance. A for effort.

OK so an image round up of the guest list I managed to pap in Pocket:

As well as these guys, Sophia Sassoon a former Made In Chelsea star attended, Lauren Goodger, Francine Lewis, Bobbie Norris, Jess Wright and Abigail Clarke from TOWIE and Danny Jones, McFly.

Only thing we forgot to do really was bring more flyers/business cards for the brand, and perhaps more signage around the place. Now we know, hey ho. The next biggie is the Pocket brand's launch party- OFFICIAL ladies and gents- oh yes, Thursday 12th, in aid of the new collection! We managed to network here, in order to get some of these faces to our night!

In summary- cool. I like champagne. I really want to meet Adam again, he refused us after party drinks. That is all.
