Bold Brighton, i luhhh me some landscape photography

As a huge photography enthusiast and never one to miss out on a scene when out and about, especially in such a cherished city, I had to take a few snaps on my iPhone during my visit down to Brighton this weekend. iPhones have the capability to produce some wonderful shots and they are not taken advantage of enough, a mon avis.

Landscape photography, places and people are my preferred areas of photography and without regular daily access to my SLR, my trusted phone can produce such scenes. I truly swear by it! Once you have envisioned the best composition in the present situation and mentally mapped the surroundings and best areas of lighting, choose a focus point (the fabulous iPhone let's you do this by touching on screen where you want the focal point to be- alter it if need be, a few times until the lighting is the most complimentary to the scene and the colour palette is the richest. No vast, bright whiteness, ew.). Ensure there is no blur in your frame and snap away. I prefer shooting in portrait, but never shy away from capturing as much of the goodness that can be achieved there, in a landscape frame.

#1- The Marina,Monday evening, September 9th

#2- Exiting the marina, photo across the elevated foot bridge

#3- Brighton's gorgy sea front, taken from the window of my sister's car, waiting at the traffic lights

#4- The favourite shot: Actual marina boating bay

#5- Spooky marina skyline, couldn't avoid the mass brand placement, soz. In the background they are clouds not mountains...weird(?!)

#6- Using the elevated marina footbridge, complete with brother's silhouette

I produced these on the 4S without the HDR function on (in order to avoid huge memory consumption on my phone) and post edit using simple app and iPhone functions. The process takes me no longer than 10-15 minutes to produce a few. Usually the HDR function on the on-screen camera settings can achieve a bigger file, with a clearer resolution if it is needed for more important, larger projects, but usually I take without.
