We arrived at 230pm for usual matters at pocket HQ, got busy and the day was over as soon as it started. Pretty cool interning when you don't get bored...and that's a rare experience. Basically today I made some more graphics to advertise the current sale on, continued composing my latest and probably favourite article yet and learnt how to use the izettle. Izettle is the app and device duo that permits money transactions digitally all hooked up together via Bluetooth. It's crazy cool and simple to use. Just write an amount on the app on the phone, put the card into the device and it sends a receipt to the customer when they've put it in on the phone screen. Rad. It's a good idea when friends need to pay you for anything.
Karis and I sorted stock for the shop. We went down under a.k.a the basement, and organised the jean range, caps, general merch we were taking, along with quantities and sizing as well as trying on our own to wear as uniform in the shop. They had a very unusual fit I may say, with a nice sexy hugging of my hips, bum and upper leg area and a looser leg tapering that didn't unfortunately reach my ankle so I made them into roll ups. They looked very smart on though- perfect evening or smart day wear. I sported the cream with red pocket, Karis the inverse. See MaxdeCourcy instagram.
Moreover, Karis created the purchasing bags for customers with the POCKET stamp. They looked rustic and handmade.
Off to the shop we went at 387 kings road, Chelsea, to drop off into our designated space as part of Pop Up Britain. We had a lovely white side space, sandwiched between two other brands on the wall and an array of fun furniture to play with. Expect to see Pocket caps, jeans,t shirts and the team. Half of the new SS14 collection is on display out tomorrow and straight from the printers. So yummy.
Swatch party up next. Addison Lee came to collect us along with Jonski-Louise's agent- and his friend. We ventured round London in this car for so long it was unreal, but got to browse the city as a passenger in the comfort of a nice car. It was peaceful. Rush hour was upon us, so we didn't arrive until 730pm. Swatch had an intimate studio space in deep East London compete with an open bar of a Mojito/ beer drink choice, random canapés and a hip hop dance act. Papz were at the ready... Obviously. There was a digital screen that mirrored the art of graffiti spraying- new technology that printed stickers of what you produced. Just wow.
I met some funny people there, unsure weather they were all of sound mind and intention but hey, it's all part of the game to chat around, gurning mouth or not. 'Bipling' this fashion blogger/ DJ was there also getting papped. She 'made it' recently I hear and as a socialite gets asked to attend lots of things and DJ various events. Hard life huh. She was sporting the coolest outfit with pinstriped white shorts, a killer black jacket in an asymmetric cut and zany plastic sleeves that protruded from her shoulder pads, complete with a simple pony and large wedges. The best bit was the Swatch vending machine that spelt out 'free' on the selection screen, so upon leaving we got to take a watch home. It was a fab idea, unfortunately we were late leaving so there was little choice. Car came for us at 920pm and off we went off into the night to go out. It was night time, so the streets were heaving with lights, bodies and excitement.
