And so I submerge myself in reality after a momentary hold from the good old badass duo ‘concentration and focus’ (or sometimes known as the mesmerizing glazed-over thoughtful stare) and acknowledge I am on a train headed to London, Victoria on this not-so-fine-but-extensively-grey-day of May. Three hours early for an editor position interview-unprepared but willing- with an international fashion company and post blood test (love a good check up) I am in one of life’s limbo moments (more formally defined as a transitional period in one’s life where they are neither here nor there and usually waiting for a conclusion or direction of some sort.) Next step- killing time wisely.
Central Saint Martins telepathically beckons me to introduce myself to a possible and probable new degree home for the encroaching academic year, so I accept her justified invitation and prior to this, head for my favourite caffeine fix- the beloved ‘mocha.’ (skimmed milk, no cream, best served from Costa, but if it has to be Starbucks, then fewer chocolate pumps and extra hot) I imaginarily gleam.
After the recent amendment of my online portfolio and continuation of its updates (due to the London Arts university portfolio viewing invite), I realize how much I have attained since my college years and where I have come. I quite like digesting my approximately three-year multitude of adulthood entry, dedication to education, my insatiable quest with proactivity and drifting in and out of sanity, of course.
A crazy ride indeed, I have become ever so fickle and more indecisive with age (I am yet to understand this correlation). I know I am seeking ‘life’s equilibrium,’ a self coined term for reaching satisfaction and the point where want equals need. It’s a happy place, I’m sure.Adding to my catalogue of employability wealth, I have Den’ed it up, received Impact magazine’s news for next year’s committee, interviewed for a very commercial retail brand in-store position and now awaiting my second more official interview role of the week. What is more, ‘Who’s Jack’ magazine have been in correspondence about me becoming an editor for them- whoopeee, more fashion frolicking!
