I Heart NOTION Mag!

Notionmag.com, planetnotion.com.

The place I currently intern at as an editor; write lots of content for Planetnotion daily, receive press releases on new, current or upcoming trends. I get to create a bit of nifty post artwork too, if I get good quality and content imagery from the PR. Check out my puma post: http://www.planetnotion.com/2012/03/20/sporty-spice/ I am also very proud of my JONQUIL music review, Bronya is yet to post.

Seb Law is my main man/port of call. Creating catchy titles, using perfect grammar and good phrasing and just being generally all around quirky and entertaining keeps readers hooked! Great office work in busy old street! Really nice team; an eclectic mix of every genre of person. We could be a soap opera; like an alternative office. This week (ie. since Tuesday) I am dealing with promo by sending spare older issues to companies that may or may not stock magazines, in order to expand NOTION publicity around London stores. (a few to include Harrods, Harvey Nichols, Village Bicycle, Selfridges etc- basically any classic, respected retailers) Along with a copy, I send a nice formal letter from Bronya (music editor and part-time marketing person) outlining why they have received our lovely free mag!

I also went to TALK PR last week to collect some designer clothes for a shoot they did today for a new Swedish singer. They were based just off Tottenham court road tube station. Very glam exciting location in a tall clean white clinical building.

In a few days I get to write some articles for PRINT IN APRIL's ISSUE YAY! I love print, SO MUCH! so this means my stuff can be visually apparent in hardcopy for me to KEEP, HURRAHH! I write up to about 8 articles online a day when content is coming in thick and fast, however, print is where my heart lies. I have collected most of my favourite IMPACT issues over time. Seb also made me a site admin on Facebook so I feel all big and proper now.
Lunch times consist of a combination of Bill's treat (usually Pret or Wasabi) and my home-made and travelled lunch. Sunny days means Finsbury square and not so sunny days (there haven't been many) means just chill around the office and fart around on the computer. OOH and today was the spring equinox. I remember blogging it for Den Creative Ltd.

Last week NOTION had a shoot in the room next door to the office. Lots of clothing, makeup, fussing, fashion and people. Very glam! Alexis Knox- Notion's fashion director/stylist - is getting quite big I hear. She has styled Katy B, Cher Lloyd and has been on T4. I am glad I got to witness that. It is nice being around the drama sometimes and not directly being involved. I recently did a modelling shoot myself and we had like 349034 changes and had to work all day (me and this model called Oh-la, who was experienced tiny, pale and vampire-esque) Jheez.

Tweeting, PR responding, writing, editing, art working, admin, physical-leaving-the-office-tasks, calling up brands/stores, print and online. In summary so far of the 6 days. It's hectic but a job I want! (Me and Hollie have decided we are going to become founders of our own magazine in the future after our morning train discussion today, due to our complimentary expertise in all the areas required for a magazine, yay!)

The bonus is, I also get to see Hollie, Alexa, Sinead and Robbie a lot due to us all being in London most the time!
