Well actually, more than one song of the day today, as I am feeling inspired and generous and the sun is out. My cousin is one half of this group who came out and toured with The Streets and records were produced by Calvin Harris, in the naughties. I believe it's their time again, perhaps the previous trend climate left them misunderstood and their musical intentions harder to grasp. They are literally awesome and didn't get the recognition they deserved. Mega personality in this Ghanian duo. He helped me move out my house in London this year too, so peace and thanks for that.
I got their first album and merch as a fam member ;D. Anyway, best by far is 'Michael Jackson,' but the others I have selected here are a good mix of contemporary themes, rap, electronic and popular culture. Their album was strongly rap focused, with a modern sound. GO GEEETTT. Find out more on The Mitchell Brothers on BBC.
THIS SONG IS THE SH*T TOO, wear dem trainers-
This track below has identifiable 'Streets' vibes, e.g. Blinded By The Lights.
Overall I really like their ability to turn a simple narrative and basic tale/concept into a song and make it exciting and absorbing to put on while you're doing your stuff. I mean some basic woes and issues in everyday life become lively and I like listening to the tones of their vocals in a conversational speed and manner. London vibes coming through.
