Shooting Editorial: September Suede for Liv In Fashion

This week I'm documenting a different genre- my latest photography projects surrounding styling, a smiling beauty and superlative summer days in Brighton. Lately I've been shooting editorial style looks for Liv In Fashion; my sister's extraordinary sleek, chic and accessible fashion blog. Her latest theme surrounds the lean towards suede, and its instant framing of a comfortable, casual outfit. Check out her work for everyday style inspiration! Whether you're after quick tips on how to up-market your look, or the best buys hidden within the complex abyss of consumer shopping, hit up Liv In Fashion....But while you're here, see below for my best shots!

I went in a different direction when editing this time, inspired by the quaint, cutesy location- the mini hidden residential lanes up from Hove seafront. Today it's more aryan; my usual finish is very bold, sharp and colourful with an identifiable architectural personality. This week, to highlight the magnificent natural summer light, I emphasised exposure, added a fade, pulled on a cooler, pink tone and smoothed out any context marks that took the focus away from Liv's effortlessly cool persona.

Liv and I always work super well together; we know what works during the practicalities of ad-hoc shooting, our strengths and where to best capture the shots for her brand. We shoot around various Brighton and Hove locations on clear sky days, whilst discovering the best city corners, coffee outlets and places to work.

My content is slightly different to that on Liv's blog as I concentrate on the composition, lighting, boldness and editorial viewpoint. Through my photography I seek to achieve 3 objectives: to capture and portray A) how I want viewers to respond to photos, B) my framing of the experience and C) my response to the outfit, subject and setting through the finish. I'm also a BIG fan of portrait photography, so the face plays a central role. Liv's site showcases fashion-detailed, comprehensive outfit narratives backed by useful information.

Always a pleasure collaborating with my sissy- I'm so proud of her and her potential is limitless. She's always on point with the latest online movements and evolving her brand in contemporary directions.
