Podcast Review: These idiots ARE brilliant- crude conversations and credible minds

The one and only Brilliant Idiots Podcast. BOOM. I randomly stumbled upon this gem of a pop culture, society, USA topic-related comedic debate show from iPhone podcast browsing. It's bloody entertaining- a black and white guy pair up with huge charisma and heaps of energy every week to bring you their take on what's going on in the world. Meet Charlamagne The God and Andrew Schulz, both born from MTV with public persona, chat show, comedy-related foundations. The podcast is so free, so relevant and so good for walking down the street with, inducing a huge beam on your face! I find it truly engaging with educational value as well. It has ability to open up and unpick contemporary 'going's on' with a light-hearted, raw tone. If you need a pick-me up- here's a free audio one. Expect black comedy and bad language- it's all part of the appeal!

If you're a ponce stay clear- they do get gritty and involved, employing loaded terminology and heavy imagery. I can't fault their improv'd, relaxed execution, with an 'i don't give a sh*t' attitude. Half way through one ep Charlamagne's wifey calls in- you get the laid back atmosphere.

The pair are totally approachable and you become drawn to their characters, learning more of their lives throughout each show. The on aid dynamic is exciting and I'm fascinated to hear what they have to say every week, as well as who the next guest may be. C Tha God and Schulz never fail to surprise, getting regularly heated during their mild conflicts of viewpoint. It's nice to understand how their demographic, upbringing, background and profile in society have led them to individual views on pressing topics including race, relationships, money, American life and pop culture. OH and there's A LOT of 'dick talk.' Haaatt daaamn!

My first episode was 'Daddy Issues w Guest Girl Code's Tanisha Long.' It was so honest and entertaining with heaps of 'real talk', hitting on psychological, female and relationship issues, laced with their usual male humour. 'Pimpin' the struggle w Akaash Singh' is my latest favourite! It owns by far one of the most energetic and opinionated debates of all my listening experiences. GO NOW. In general you end up laughing and reviewing your own values/ life a lot- it's a nice balance.  After heavy topics, you're escorted out the experience with a veil of light-hearted jokes and a satisfied feeling.

After finishing Serial, I NEEDED a replacement hobby. I've become truly into audio learning and entertainment- it's my new flame at the moment. Serial was exquisite. 10/10 hands down. My friends at work in Sydney kept badgering me to get into it and alas, after a few weeks, I sampled during a road trip back from Canberra. There was was no going back. Following a fictional detective/ real life journalist's journey through a true Baltimore murder crime, I was hooked on each episode's dramatic cliff hangers. Maannn, who knew crime was this fun?! I certainly never paid any attention to the genre prior to this love affair. After twelve eps I was somewhat lost and sad I no longer got to hear more of the story- the feeling you get after finishing your favourite TV series, sad face.

Anyway back to BI. I love 'em- keep up the good work fellas! And I've kinda found myself mentally attracted to Schulz aka 'Schulzy'- he has a charming appeal. Listen ladies, you'll know what I mean (hehe). Check out their Soundcloud website and Twitter.
